"Parenting in Troubled Times, Part:3"πŸ§‘β€πŸ§‘β€πŸ§’β€πŸ§’

Last week, we saw that the number one way we prepare our children to face the world is through a godly marriage. But today, we come to the greatest battle of all... the battle for the heart.

Our children are born into a world filled with lies, but their greatest danger is not the culture around them. Their greatest danger is themselves. Will they look inward to their own desires, or upward to God? Will they worship self, or will they worship God?

The world tells us to build self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-worth. But Scripture gives us a very different goal. The goal of parenting is not to place our child's confidence in themselves. The goal of parenting is to place their confidence squarely in God.

As we come to Colossians 3, we see God's simple plan for preparing the next generation: a clear biblical expectation and a clear biblical explanation. Through obedience, discipline, and the truth of God's Word, parents are called to point their children to Christ and help them stand firm in a world of lies.

Grace Pulpit August 31st @Notes: Missions, Part III– Now, missions can evoke a variety of responses. Some think: I could never do that! Others imagine: Maybe I could go? Still more: I will go! Even some ask: How can I help? Perhaps, if you know a little more about missions, you may start thinking of faithful missionaries throughout history: Adoniram Judson, Hudson Taylor, Amy Carmichael, Mary Slessor, many more. These are all natural and understandable responses, but they all reveal one...

Grace Pulpit August 24th @Pastor Notes: Missions, Part II– Today, we will talk about the foundation of everything in Missions. Mission exists for Worship! Now, that might not sound altogether surprising. For, everything exists for worship God’s glory (1 Cor 10:31; Col 3:17). But, over the years, many missions programs have drifted away from this simple premise. For, many act like disoriented tour guidesβ€”they have gotten themselves lost trying to save the lost. Simply, ask: How do you measure...
